It's been exactly a month since I last posted. I don't like to go this long without a post, but things have really been getting in the way of this little old blog. I have still been checking in and trying to read some, but blogging really has taken a back seat in this crazy life. The past couple months have been filled with a lot! I have to say that some things are just not things that your air in a public place like a blog and unfortunately those are the things that have been consuming my thoughts as of late. I have had a hard time actually sitting down to blog without spilling everything that is personal and private out for all to read. I just decided that I needed a little break. I needed it for my mind, I needed it for my soul, I needed it for the ones I love, and I needed it to be with my Heavenly Father. So, what's been going on around here?
Wedding Planning...
We are in the home stretch! I have been trying to get all the little things done and the wedding is really starting to feel real!!! I am starting to be less stressed and more excited about the actual day! However, the wedding dreams are starting again!!!! If you have been a bride, you probably know what I am talking about. I have had dreams where the food is messed up, the DJ was terrible, the reception location screwed everything up, and the most horrible of them all was the one were it rained (and the reception was outside...who knows why I dreamed that since the reception is in a ballroom!) and when I looked outside the window there were only 15 or so people that showed up!!! All I could think about was how we had enough food for 150 and I cried and cried! I guess I am a little stressed about the little things not coming together, but it is silly. It's crazy!
Wedding Events...
I have been very busy lately with wedding events! I have every single weekend on my calendar up to the wedding booked with something! I only have Easter weekend totally free! I have had two bridal showers and they have been so much fun! I have four more showers to look forward to and a Bachelorette weekend away with the girls! This weekend is also my bridal portraits, so I get to be all dolled up and wear my wedding dress! I am getting really excited for that!!! I also have all the actual wedding events like the Bridal Luncheon, Rehearsal Dinner, and Wedding and Honeymoon to look forward to now as well! It is all coming and I am very excited!!! :) I will share the bridal showers I had in the next couple posts, but I want to have a special post for them to look back on one day.
Building our Future Home...
Thomas and I took the plunge and decided to buy the home that I told y'all about before my leave of absense. We were looking at possibly buying one that was already completed, but we really wanted certain features in it, and unfortunately none of the completed ones had exactly what we were looking for. It would have been fine...the finishes are all similar since it is new construction but we really wanted to add some things like getting an outside unit with the particular floorplan that we liked, adding a window, picking out the cabinet color, countertops, etc. Since the builder was about to start construction on the next set of units, and they were to be ready very close to our return date from our honeymoon, we decided to buy one of the unbuilt ones and customize it for us! It really is working out great! We drove by yesterday and I saw that they had the stakes out and that the building is about to start! :) We decided to get wood in our entryway, granite countertops, and were able to buy the end unit, add windows, pick our exact finishes, pick carpet, and add additional lights and such. We are so excited! The home should be ready in July and we are READY to move in! :) We will be living with my mom when we return from our honeymoon for a couple weeks or so until move in date! Please continue to send up prayers for us that everything continues to work out with this purchase. It is the perfect starter home for us and we could not be more excited!
School...
School is almost out! I am almost a graduate! I am winding down and finishing up a few projects...I can't believe I am almost there! I am very excited and looking forward to being a full-time employee at my job and being able to take on more challenging projects!
Mary Kay...
I have a special post for this as well! I have been taking Mary Kay slow with all the choas going on in my life, but I did take time out to attend the Career Conference. I will post about that this week!
That's just about all that is going on right now! I am going to try to keep my blog up. I really want to use it as a way to look back, so I owe it myself to keep up with it. Thanks for all those that have stuck with me and I promise I will try to get back into the swing of things!
