Brain Dump

I feel so scattered lately!  As I said on my last post, I am not on a good schedule (working on that one!) and on top of that I have a million different things swirling around in my head!

  • Wedding stuff: We have got to get a full guest list together!!!! It is how many months until the wedding and I have been engaged for a year and a half, there is no excuse!!! I have a meeting with a wonderful graphic designer and invitation designer this week and am looking so forward to it!  I love when the paper products look polished and coordinate at an event! The link for who I am talking to is on my sidebar under Wedding Planning With..., it's Emma J Designs.  I have admired her work for a long time and really look forward to talking to her! I also have other little things to do like decide on a cake, book a DJ, and book a videographer, decide on decorations and tableclothes, etc.  Ashton and I were discussing the wedding this past weekend and I realized I still have a lot left to do!
  • Thomas and I started discussing money this past weekend.  What a fun topic...not!  We were deciding who would mail off the bills (me), and who would be the main one to make sure we are staying on budget (him), and we agreed on our main goals and that we would sit down monthly and discuss our budget for the upcoming month and how we did the last month.  We also agreed on a Zero Balance Budget for each month, bascially the Dave Ramsey method, but we haven't gone through the class.  We are not planning to do an envelope method exactly, but it isn't 100% out of the question either.  We will see how it goes once we get married and start all of that.
  • We are currently trying to decide of where we are honeymooning.  The options are a 7 day Carribbean cruise or a 7 day Alaskan cruise.  We are both pulling for the Alaskan cruise, plus it is the cheaper of the two options.  However, it depends on our vacation time as we would have to take off 2 weeks in order to go.  It also depends on money (of course), so if certain items we have budgeted for are more than we aniticipate we might have to do a shorter Carribean cruise which is the cheapest of all the options.  Cross your fingers everything works out with the Alaska option because we both think it would be wonderful!  Also, anyone who has experience with Alaskan cruises, please let me know if I need a passport to go on one!  It isn't going to be going into or sailing out of Canada, so I am thinking I should be okay.  If not, I need to get a new one stat!!!  If we book it, I will definitely have to call the cruise company and make sure!
  • I am so glad my LAST semester of college is pretty easy!  I have 4 classes: one working as a Research Assistant to my professor again, Economics of Immigration, Intro to Sign Language (super fun!!!), and Intro to Crafts.  I am loving it.  My only econ class is that immigration one and we have NO tests!  We only have papers (one a week, 2.5 pages), so it is some work, but it isn't bad at all!  Plus it is with my favorite professor, who is my advisor, his wife is my wedding dress seamstress, and he is likely our wedding singer.  He is a wonderful person and I have really grown close to him through the last 3 years of having him as a professor.
Happy Monday!  I hope you are staying warm!  I am so ready for Spring!!!
