Dress Me!

I have been meaning to post a few different pictures for some fun posts, but I just now got a chance to do this. Friday, the company I work for will be hosting their annual picnic. We are having it at a very fun location this year where we are allowed to bring out pets. I will be bringing Lucky and my mother with me this year. I have been nominated for Student Team Member of the Year for our district which includes several offices. For privacy reasons I don't want to say exactly where I work, but I do work with a large company that does a lot of good for our country. The problem I have is that I don't know what I want to wear to the picnic. It is hot and I will be out there for about 4 hours, so it has to be lightweight. I want to look fun since it is a picnic, but I don't want to stick out too much either. If I win the award, I will have to walk on stage and have many pictures taken that will be published in our quarterly magazine. I want to blend in with the other people that will be getting Team Member of the Year awards and will be in the pictures. I have narrowed it down to two options. Lucky's options to match his momma are in there too!

Option 1 - I like this option because it looks summery and we will be right on the coast and it is Lilly! However, I am scared I might stick out too much in this one. Maybe I am just being self-concious, but let's face it...when you wear Lillys you stick out! I do always get compliments from all of my coworkers when I wear Lilly though :)
Option 2 - This option is nice because it so cool and relaxed. I tried to give it a little of my own flair by accessorizing with the red bracelet. It is definitely a patriotic look, but not overtly. I like this one because it is almost the 4th of July and I work with a company that does great things for our country. It is a little themed without people really realizing I theme my outfit to where I go, ha!

Okay, vote and tell me which one to wear!

Reality T.V.

I hope everyone had a great weekend and got to spend some time with their daddies. My father lives far away from me, so I had to settle for a phone call. :(

Today I am going to talk T.V.
Jon and Kate plus 8 - I have no idea if this is true at all, but I heard through the grapevine that tonight Jon and Kate will be announcing a divorce on the episode of J&K+8. I sincerely hope that they are not getting divorced. Being a child from a divorced home, I know how difficult it can be on the family. I feel so bad for their children through all of this. I will be tuning in to find out what happens.

The Real Housewives of NJ - The Last Supper - I didn't really feel like I got that much out of watching this. The original fight had all the good stuff in it, but I did like how they broke up the frame and showed all of the women's reactions to things that were said. My mother was in the room when I was watching this and she got sucked in for a good 30 minutes and said she could see why I watched it now. HA! gotta love that bad reality t.v.

The Real Housewives of OC - Extra Footage - Did anyone else watch this? I recorded it when it first came on and finally got a chance to watch it on Saturday. All I have to say is that I really wanted to like Gretchen from the beginning and throughout I really tried to see her as sincere, but that episode sealed her fate with me. She was definitely in the relationship for money and gifts. I can't believe the way she acted about Jay. I kind of understand Tamara being mean now. Still doesn't really excuse the behavior, but I can see the motivation. I still want Gretchen to return because I enjoyed watching her, she made good reality t.v. Oh, I liked how they showed how she did her hair! I will have to try that out because her hair was beautiful!

I hope everyone has a great Monday! I have small group at church tonight and we are starting a new study called When Wallflowers Dance. I am really excited about this because it is about becoming a strong woman of god.

Friday, June 19, 2009

I really don't have much to say today. I am getting off work at 3:00 today (gotta love flex time) and running over to the Westin. Thomas and I are getting his dad a round of golf for Father's Day and I need to pick up the certificate on my way home. Tonight we are going to run errands and then go out to dinner at Moes. Do they have Moes all over? or is it a Georgia thing? It is so good! They have the best queso dip! Saturday, I am going to try to wake up and organize/clean my room. I still live at home, but I have so much random stuff that should be kept in different rooms. I can't wait until Thomas and I have our own place and I can organize and not feel so cramped. Every year I try to do a big purge and get rid of the clothes I don't wear, old books, make-up that gets thrown into the back of the drawer, lotions and other beauty products, and organize all mail/bills that are kept for records. I know I won't get all of this done this weekend, but I will try to get a dent in it. I am planning to start with the huge pile of textbooks. I have never sold back a textbook and I heard about this place called ecampus.com that buys them back and you just mail it to them (with a prepaid label you print off). I have 3 years worth of books sitting by my desk that I would love to get rid of!

In other news, I was checking aol news today and saw funniest Jon and Kate tabloid accusation yet. Someone has told the tabloids that Kate gets drunk and hits her kids with a plastic spoon. REALLY? I seriously doubt that. When will the press stop this craziness and quit trying to make money. I guess they won't stop until people quit buying their magazines. They will say whatever they can to make a quick dollar. I am not taking sides on this Jon and Kate thing because I don't believe their marital problems are one-sided. Even though Kate can be a bit controlling at times and a little intense, I would never think she would get drunk and beat her kids. That is just sad and mean for them to say that.

Have a great Friday!

sTORI telling Review

via Amazon.com

I finished sTORI telling last night and I really enjoyed this book. It is exactly what the name suggests...Tori tells you stories about her life from her childhood up to when Liam was born. I really didn't know that much about Tori Spelling before I started watching Tori & Dean: Inn Love and then Home Sweet Hollywood. I was never a 90210 fan because I was a little young when it came out. I never realized that she was a big T.V. movie actress because I haven't seen her in those either (too young again). I guess I first noticed Tori Spelling when So NoTORIous came out and I got hooked on it. She is a great comedian! It was really interesting to read about her childhood as Aaron Spelling's daughter, her 90210 days, her first marriage, and all of those things that I never had a chance to read in the tabloids. But let's face it...the main reason I (and probably a lot of other people) bought the book was to hear about her relationship with her mother. I think Tori does a good job about explaining her relationship with her mother while still trying to not hurt her feelings. I am sure it did hurt her, but I could tell that Tori took a conscious effort in writing about her mother to do it tactfully. This book made me look at Tori in a new light. Not that I was ever one of those who thought she was a spoiled brat because I didn't really know much about her until the days when she was on her own. I never realized how hard she worked to try to get jobs and overcome her name, her debt issues, or about how awful her mother really was. I have always really liked Tori, but now I see just how strong of a woman she is. I would suggest this book to anyone who likes Tori Spelling or has an opinion about her. It is an easy fun read and isn't too long. Overall, I would rate it a 5 out of 5. This isn't a deep book (you wouldn't be reading an autobiography if you wanted deep), but for being a fun look into the life of Tori Spelling, it is well written and it feels like you are gabbing with a girlfriend and it kept me laughing the whole way through.

Real Housewives

I am sure all of us Real Housewives obsessed bloggers will be posting about this today. Still...can you believe that fight last night!?! WOW! I don't even know where to start!

Danielle - I can NOT believe she would come to Teresa's dinner party and bring that book. There is a time and a place if you want to confront these women, but please don't ruin a party that someone is throwing and don't chastise them for wanting to get their 3 small children out of there before you start cursing and talking about things children don't need to hear. I do understand that someone ruined your reputation in town by showing the book around at the salon (not that you really had a great one to begin with Ms. engaged 19 times) and for that you wanted to confront them, but do it at a more private time. I just cracked up laughing at the end of the episode when all the women were screaming at her and each other and she kept saying, "I didn't want this to happen." Yeah right, this is exactly what you wanted to happen. Why else would you have brought that book.

Dina/Caroline - These women were basically the opposing team to Danielle's attack. I really don't trust these women and I can see where they might have two-faced characteristics. However, I really enjoyed watching them throughout the season. In real life, I would avoid these women like the plague, but on t.v. I can forgive their backstabbing ways and take them with a grain of salt. I don't know who showed the book to who...but I got the feeling that they realized they were exposed to everyone there and needed a cover up quick. I really doubt it was Caroline that showed the book. I am putting my money on Dina, but I don't think that Caroline is completely innocent either. My guess is that Dina was ticked at Danielle for whatever reasons and wanted to get some dirt on her in retaliation. Caroline made that comment earlier in the season that she "investigated" people that came into her life and we all knew she meant Danielle. I imagine Dina discussed this with Caroline and together they decided to do a little digging and see if they found anything. Then they probably found out about the book (and Dina got excited as Jacqueline said at the dinner...I really don't see why Jacqueline would lie about something like that) and got it and read it together. They probably just took it to the salon to laugh about it with a few people and then it spread like fire. I don't really think that they went out maliciously looking for a way to ruin her reputation (otherwise Dina would have put her mug shot up on all the street lamps like she said earlier in the season), but I do think there were bad judgements made that they had to keep covering up. They were definitely mean and sneaky!

Jacqueline - I feel a little bad for her. She was so conflicted this season. She was obviously there when Dina and Caroline found the book, she probably was there when they all sat and read it (I know I would have been out of sheer curiosity), and I am guessing she knows the true story behind what happened at the salon and who showed the book around. On the other hand, she didn't want to throw her friendship away because her stab you in the back sister-in-laws decided they didn't like someone. This was so high school. The classic "You are my friend and I decided I hate so in so, so now you have to hate them too" I don't think Jacqueline wanted to pipe up about anything because she knew Caroline and Dina where lying, but they are family and she will have to deal with them for the rest of her life. She also didn't want her friend to not have back up. Dina pulled her into the fight and expected her to side with family. I think Jacqueline was telling the truth when she said her side of what happened. I don't know why she would lie. If she sided with family and helped cover up, I would understand a lie. But she exposed her sister-in-laws and what's the difference between saying Caroline did it, Dina did it, or they both did it. Any of the above would have made them mad, so I think she told the truth.

Teresa - I can't believe how angry she got about Danielle saying that rude comment to her. Yes, it was rude and in the moment she was in the yelling was justified, but flipping over a table!?! Throughout the season, Teresa became my favorite housewife. I felt bad her dinner party was ruined. I guess she reacted like that because of a mixture of anger about Danielle being so out of hand with her comment and the fact that she ruined her party. I do think it was very classy of her to apologize in her interview for her reaction.

These are my opinions on the drama last night, I may be way off on what happened. I think that this is the the story Bravo wanted us to see by the way they edited everything throughout the season. I can't wait for Thursday to see more of the fight and then for the reunion as we know this will be the hot topic. I really want to see how right I am with my reaction to what happened.

Wedding Updates

Hello girls! I have been so blah the past few days. I didn't go to work yesterday because I felt really icky and Sunday night I seriously got only 1.5 hours of sleep. I had a terrible night that consisted of what I think was a fever that broke in the middle of the night, getting up and down all night because I was dying of thirst and then consequently going to the bathroom every 30 minutes. It was terrible. I finally quit fighting it around 4 and just laid in my bed waiting for 6:30 so that I could call my boss to tell him that I wasn't coming in. I haven't run a fever since Sunday night when it broke, so I came on into work today. I am still feeling blah, but I am not sick feeling anymore. I feel like I have a lot to catch everyone up on. I am just going to do a list today. It's really all wedding stuff, but I probably won't be doing a wedding post for a while since we are going to have longer to plan the wedding than originally planned. I don't really have to worry about planning it right now. (see below) I promise something more exciting tomorrow.
  • Thomas and I have decided to wait for two years to get married. I don't want to bore you with all that went into the decisions, but I will say that there were more pros in the 2011 wedding date than in the 2010 wedding date. Some of them being that we will have significantly more money since I will be out of college, we will most likely be able to buy a house in our hometown that we adore, I will be less stressed out during our first year since I will not have to juggle school in addition to all the other new changes, Thomas will have a year of working full-time to save up for us to have money to start furnishing our home. Like I said, a lot of pros. (There are even more but I don't want to bore you)
  • I ordered some really cute "Will you be my bridesmaid?" cards off etsy before I decided this and I will get them in sometime in July. I will be sure to show them to y'all when they come in. I guess I will hold onto them for a little while before I send them out since I have a lot more time. I am contemplating getting some "Will you be my groomsman?" cards for Thomas to send out so that the guys will know that we are formally asking them to be in our wedding, but I don't want to make the guys laugh at Thomas :) He said he doesn't care and if I want to buy them I can. I have time to decide I guess, but it is on my mind.
  • I toured the American Legion on Friday and HATED it. It was old (not in a good way), musty, the paint was peeling off the walls, floors looked terrible, guest entered in a stairwell, TERRIBLE! I took pictures, but it is not worth uploading. I guess you get what you pay for.
  • I talked budget with my father and it went very well. It feels really good to know we are on the same page with the budget and I know what it budget for each item on the list. It is all going to come together beautifully!

Not the most interesting post, but I needed to catch all my readers up on the big stuff that happened this weekend. Have a happy Tuesday!

My First Wedding Activity!!!

Today I am going to look at a venue for our wedding reception! We are looking into the American Legion building on Forsyth Park. We are concerned the riverboat will not hold all of our guests, so we are trying to look into different locations also. I am excited it is on Forsyth because I have always wanted to take wedding pictures there. The fountain is so beautiful and I would love to have pictures of us in front of it. Unfortunately, my mother can't go with me today because she is getting a root canal. Thomas' mother is going to be going with me. My mother was really disappointed, so I am going to take pictures of everything so she can see it. That is if they allow it. We wanted to reschedule, but the man who gives tours is not going to be in for a couple of weeks after today. Wish us luck!

We are also contemplating moving the wedding back another year to June 2011. The job market is not strong right now, and Thomas isn't really sure what he is going to be able to do with his degree in History. There is always teaching, but he doesn't have his certification (and in GA it takes about another year after graduation to be a certified teacher in a specific subject like History). He has put in his resume at the place where I work now, and we are just going to pray about that. However, if we don't hear anything by the end of summer we will most likely be pushing it back. He will also be talking to people at school to see if they could help him with his search. I am really disappointed about this, but I would rather be financially stable when we are starting our life together. I make a very good part-time income, but it is not enough to support us if he can't find something. We could push on with the June 2010 wedding, but if he doesn't get a job we might have to spend our first few months living with his grandparents or one of our parents. Obviously, this is not ideal. So the plan is to keep on planning for a June 2010 wedding until the end of summer (but not put down deposits until we know what we are doing. this will chance us giving up our venue, but we don't really have another choice). At the end of summer we will look at what has happened. If Thomas has gotten the job where I work, we will definitely get married in June 2010. If Thomas still doesn't know what he will do after graduation, we will just push it back to June 2011. I know we are hoping for a job way ahead, but we are really trying to be smart about our decision. If we wait one additional year, Thomas will definitely have a job by then or will have that year to get his teaching certification and then teach the following year. I will also be done with college and have a full-time job where I am now that will pay pretty good. So I am disappointed, but trying to be realistic. Who knew wedding planning was so stressful!

Wednesday Ramblings

I am not going to do Wedding Wednesday every week because I have a year to plan and I have a feeling I would make y'all sick of my wedding before it even happens. ha! I do have plenty of great ideas, but I am unsure if they all will work out. I will give you a little taste of what I am working with right now. We are going to have a lot more people than I originally thought we would. Obviously, all those invited will not attend, but nonetheless we are going to have to go back to the drawing board once both families get their guest lists in order. How many people attended your wedding? For those still awaiting their wedding date, how many did you invite? How many sent their RSVP? I originally thought we would have around 200 (which is perfect for the river boat, although everyone I talk to says they don't see how many more would fit. I think 200-225 is tops for this venue). I talked to Thomas' mother last weekend and mentioned that I imagined we would probably have 200 attend. She told me we would have way more than that because their family is very large. I completely understand, but I am slightly worried about the wedding budget. We will see.

The Spelling books arrived and I started Stori Telling last night (and threw Peter Pan back on the bookshelf). I really like it so far! I will do a review post as soon as I finish it. Look over to the sidebar to see the books that I have read this summer and my rating of each!

Today is the day baby Preston has his CF tests and by tonight we will all know the results. Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers today.

I hope everyone has a fantastic Wednesday!

UPDATE: The power of prayer never ceases to amaze me! Preston does NOT have Cystic Fibrosis! I don't know the details of whether he is a carrier or if the gene was misread, but I do know that this sweet baby is healthy. Thank you to all of you who prayed for Preston, Melissa, and Chris throughout the last week. God has heard our prayers and answered them. I am more appreciative that you will ever know!

What Jennifer is Coveting...

I am trying to be really good about shopping this summer. I bought plenty of new things throughout the spring before my cruise. The only things I really need are a couple pairs of jeans and some new cardigans before school starts in August. Here is what I am coveting today!

Lilly Pulitzer - perfect for my rehearsal dinner next year, I will be looking out for it to go on sale!Lilly Pulitzer - on sale at Saks, another beautiful dress that would be perfect for a wedding shower or rehearsal dinner.
Lilly Pulitzer
Tory Burch
Tory Burch Revas - I don't own a pair and I am dying for some! They are way more expensive than any of the other shoes in my closet and I just haven't broken down and bought any yet. I usually don't buy something unless it is on sale, so do any of y'all have tips on where to buy some on sale?

Busy Bee

This weekend was just as uneventful as I thought it would be. Saturday, I went over to Thomas' house and his little sister Kelly was having boyfriend problems and we went to Olive Garden (her favorite) to try to cheer her up. All was well in the end! Sunday, I slept really late, ate McDonalds breakfast, and watched a couple of movies. I also cleaned and did laundry last night. My mom got me a Yankee Candle in the Wedding Day scent and I burned it after I finished cleaning and watched The Nanny on Nick at Night. It was really a completely lazy and boring weekend, but I really needed a couple of these before life gets hectic again with school and the addition of wedding planning. Today I am going to Melissa's house to see Preston before they leave tomorrow to go to Atlanta to have Preston's CF testing done. Prayers are needed over the next couple of days! I also am going to bible study with Ashton later and then we are getting together with our husband/fiance to eat Mexican at her house. I am going to have a fun night!
P.S. For those of you wanting to know - I haven't gotten Stori Telling in the mail, but I am dying to read it! I bought it on Amazon, but I used the free shipping which is kinda slow. I am actually trying to read Peter Pan before it arrives, otherwise I will toss it aside for all the good drama! I will definitely do a post about what I think of all of the Spelling books as soon as I finish each one!

It's Friday

I don't really have much to blog about today. I am so glad it is Friday! I am beat. I got to work this morning at 6:30, and it was tough waking up at 5! Tonight, Thomas and I are going to get dinner with my mother at a local Mexican place and we have to go to Wal-mart. We will probably go to his house after that and watch a movie and maybe play around for a while on the computer. Thomas and I bought The Sims 3 and we will probably play around on that for a little while. It's pretty fun. We made a family last night that looks like us, and let me say it really did look a lot like us. I was wearing pink and green capris, a pink cardigan, and little flats with pink bows. Y'all should try it out if you like to play computer games like that. Saturday, I am getting my nails filled because it has been 3 weeks and I really need to get them done. Sunday, I have no plans. This weekend is going to be relaxing and nice! I hope I get my books in the mail so that I can start Stori Telling this weekend!

Great News!

Thanks for your sweet comments yesterday about Wedding Wednesday. I am super excited about the idea of the Georgia Queen riverboat for our reception. I have been in contact with the company and it is a fantastic option. They have a planner you work with and the lady I have been working with is really nice and helpful. The way it works is you pick the menu you want from either already planned buffets or you can plan your own for a little more and you pick the drink package you want. I have looked over the options and the pre-planned buffets are very nice and reasonably priced and I have heard their food is delicious (but I will try it for myself). You pay for the catering and beverage package and the private boat, linens, china, entertainment, wait staff, etc. all comes at no additional charge. It's very economical considering what you get for the money. It is a 1 hour dock time and a 2 hour sailing time, so overall the reception is 3 hours. We are having a late wedding, so 3 hours will be sufficient. They are also partnered with the trolley company and will provide transport to and from the church for an additional charge. I feel really good about this, but my mother and I are going to do a site visit to make sure it is as good as it seems. Wish me luck!

In other news, I have been nominated for Student Team Member of the Year at my job. I am so excited and will find out if I won on June 26. I was nominated by my team leader and my boss. If I win, I get some sort of plaque, my picture on the wall on every floor for one year, and I think I get a monetary award. It is really an honor that people I work for think I am such an asset to them that they think I am the best this year out of the entire company. I have no idea who I am up against or anything, but I am just going to be excited I got nominated! If I win, that's great, but if not, I am still flattered!

Hope everyone is having a great Thursday. I am going to see Melissa and Preston this afternoon and see how she is doing. She seems to be staying strong from the facebook messages she sent me and our phone calls. It is possible the gene was misread or he is only a carrier of the CF gene, but they won't know until they test him. They are leaving on Tuesday of next week to go to Atlanta, so please pray for safe travels and a favorable outcome.

Wedding Wednesday

Hello ladies! I want to welcome all of my new followers and thank y'all for stopping by to read my blog! I get so excited when I see the follower number go up! Y'all really all make my day!
Today is Wedding Wednesday! I am the ultimate planner and have tons and tons of ideas for my big day! This comment by Ashton pretty much sums it up...when I first announced my engagement everyone kept asking me if I had any idea what I wanted and Ashton looked at someone when they asked me and said, "Are you kidding? Jennifer has been planning this wedding since she was eight!" In reality, I probably have been planning this day since I was eight. This can looked at as a good or a bad thing. The good side: I know exactly what I want for just about everything. I really only need to sit down with vendors to find the best one that can do what I want. I won't need a wedding planner because I have definite ideas about everything down to the guestbook and ring bearer pillow. (Ridiculous, I know!) The bad side: Since I know exactly what I want, I am having a hard time coming to grips with how expensive my dream wedding is. When you think about what you want before you are engaged, nothing has a price tag attached and you can plan the perfect day in your mind for free. I know everything I want and it is not cheap! If any of y'all have money saving tips on what you saved funds with, they will be greatly appreciated.

Here are some new details for the wedding that I have brainstormed with my mother! They are only tentative, but we are going to look into making it a reality because it is too wonderful for words! One of my friends at work told me to try to think of a theme to keep the wedding on track and everything cohesive. I thought about it and thought what better theme than Savannah and Southern. Thomas and I have always lived here, his entire family all the way back has always lived here, and mine has always lived in the South (Tennessee), and we love Savannah. We are going to try to incorporate things that are uniquely Southern and Savannah into our wedding! We will most likely being getting married at the church that I told y'all about in the last Wedding Wednesday post unless we don't get it because a member books it before September. Then the plan is to rent trolleys for all the guests to be transported down to River Street. The trolleys we want to rent are the ones on the far left.We will then board the Savannah River Queen boat or the Georgia River Queen boat! I love the idea of having the reception on a river boat! I couldn't get a picture, but the site has pictures of both boats. Then when the reception is over, we will trolley the guests back to the church so they can get their vehicles. Isn't that so wonderful and uniquely Southern and Savannah! I have to make some calls this week to get estimates and availability, so keep your fingers crossed that we will be able to make this idea a reality!!!
EDITED TO ADD: Every Saturday in June is available and the prices are much better than reception venues on land in Savannah. It is actually a money saver!!! I am so excited! Now I just need to tell Daddy!

Books

I think I told y'all yesterday that I have read 2 books in 2 weeks. I am trying to cram all the books that I want to read into this summer before I have to start reading all the books that I really don't want to be reading in August (i.e. Microeconomic Theory-blah!). I picked up The Devil in the Junior League and The Nanny Diarys recently and have finished and enjoyed both of them. I am now trying the make a list of all the books I want to read this summer. I know I probably won't finish them all, but I am going to try to read as many as possible. Up next, Stori Telling, Mommywood, and Candy Land. I am going to try to get all 3 of these read next so I can be up on the drama that is the Spelling family. I have watched Tori and Dean since season 2 and I think Tori is so fun and cute! I can't wait to read what she has to say, and then see what her mother has to say in retaliation. I am looking forward to a fun couple of weeks! Others on my list include a Jackie O biography that Princess Freckles recommended a few weeks back and Hopsy's favorite The Lady of Milkweed Manor. I have a number of classics that I have on my book shelf and have yet to read (don't tell my high school English teachers that I just used spark notes for everything) I think I owe it to myself to read some of these novels in my life and might try to tackle The Count of Monte Cristo unabridged before the summer is over. We will just have to see on that one! I think I might also read The Good Earth again because it is one of my all time favorites! If any of y'all have any suggestions, I would love to hear what books you recommend for a fun summer read.

Another Prayer Request

I know I ask all of y'all to pray a lot, but here is another one for my godson. My best friend Melissa gave birth a few weeks ago to her son Preston at 36 weeks. Technically he is a preemie, but he seemed to be doing fine other than the normal baby stuff like jaundice. Today, Melissa got a call from her pediatrician to let her know that Preston's bloodwork shows that he has a mutated gene and he quite possibly has Cystic Fibrosis. If y'all know anything about the disease, you will know it is just awful. There is no cure, the treatments are expensive, and the quality and length of life is not good. Tuesday, Melissa and Chris are leaving to take Preston to Atlanta to one of the top hospitals in the state. Wednesday, he is going to have a sweat test to test for the disease. The power of prayer is amazing and I am asking every single one of y'all to pray for Melissa, Chris, and baby Preston. Thank y'all so much!

Monday Ramblings

I have been given a blog award! The lovely Leah at Thinking Out Loud has given me the Blog Friend's Award. She is a wonderful blogger and is so fun to read! She is going to be having a baby boy in a couple of weeks and I can't wait to see pictures of the little one! Here are the rules:
These blogs are exceedingly charming. These kind bloggers aim to find and be friends. They are not interested in self-aggrandizement. Our hope is that when the ribbon of these prizes are cut, even more friendships are propagated. Please give more attention to these writers. Deliver this award to eight bloggers who must choose eight more and include this cleverly-written text into the body of their award.

I choose:
(It was hard to pick only eight of y'all!)
So, it's Monday and we are back to another work week. This is my first work week without a holiday in it that I will be working 40 hours. I pick whatever schedule I want depending on my schedule for school. Now that school is out for summer, I am going to work full time. It is so sad that I can work 40 hours a week and feel like it's nothing compared to last semester. I worked 31 hours a week, a full course load, and trying to shave out time for me, Thomas, friends, and family. It was a lot! This weekend I pretty much did nothing. I haven't had a weekend to do nothing in forever! Saturday, I ran errands and Ashton and I walked our dogs and hung out at here house. That night, Thomas and I went to get pizza and hung out until he had to go to work (poor thing has to work every weekend night from 11 p.m. to 7 a.m.) Sunday, I literally laid around the house in my pajamas all day and let me say it was fantastic! I finished reading The Nanny Diaries and did a little laundry and dusting. I have read 2 books in 2 weeks! I am trying to read as many books as I can before school starts back and I have no time to read what I want anymore.
I also have a prayer request for y'all. Thomas is submitting his resume today for a student position at the company I work for. These student positions are a great stepping stone because you are hired as a student and trained for the position you will take on when you graduate. Upon graduation, you are transferred into your career with no competition for the job. Basically, if you get a student position, you are guaranteed a career. In addition, they pay for your school and completely work around your schedule and you receive full benefits including health and life insurance and retirement. The earning potential upon graduation is fantastic also! I feel so fortunate that I was able to get one of these positions! I have been praying very hard for Thomas to find a good job like this. He is a history major and you would think that living in Savannah we would have tons of jobs for him. Unfortunately, they are all for people working on master's and doctorate degrees. He can teach, but those positions are few and far between in this area due to the recession. He has also thought about law school, but his heart isn't in that. He loves history, but he really just wants to work in an office. This position would allow him to do something that he is really interested in and many of the people in that division have history degrees. I am praying hard that he gets this job!!! If he gets it, we will be able to live comfortably when we get married next June and possibly buy a townhouse or something. We were really expecting him to have to get a job completely not related to his field and live in a little apartment, so this would be a great alternative! Please pray that he gets this job!
