Thursday Thoughts

I feel so blah today because the weather is very ugly here. I don't really have a lot of inspiration right now, so I am just going to ramble today!
  • I have been eating a lot of junk lately and I feel disgusting! I seriously need to make some time for exercise and quit grabbing fast food on the way to work. It is bad for waistline and the wallet. I am going to do Billy Blanks Tae Bo tonight and try to get into the workout frame of mind.
  • I really want to wear my new boots, but next week it is going to be in the high 70s and low 80s here. It's always either rain or heat here! I am ready for some chilly temps and dry weather!
  • I got LOCKED out of class today because I was 5 minutes late. The professor goes on these tirades every now and again. He knows all of us pretty well since we have had him for numerous classes. He knows most of us work hard and come to class. He knows which ones don't. In turn, we know he is consistently about 5-10 minutes late everyday. Tell me why he decided to get there on time and lock the door so that stragglers couldn't get in. Apparently last week he had a temper tantrum and got mad because no one came the class before fall break. Well, duh no one does!
  • I finished Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows on Tuesday. It was AMAZING! I always thought book 4 was my favorite, well now it is 7! I am a little bit sad that I am done though. I have been reading them since July and now it's all over. J.K. Rowling needs to write some more Harry Potter books so that I can know what happens in their lives after Hogwarts! Major dork...I know!
  • I started Julie and Julia right after HP. I do not know about this book. I love cooking. I love France. I love New York. I love blogging. I love the movie. I should love the book right. WRONG! Every other paragraph she has to say something about sex. Seriously, there is an entire chapter where she talks about finding a book in her dad's bathroom cabinet with different exotic words and definitions in it. She would read it every afternoon in the bathroom while eating her afternoon oreos. Yeah, that is the book so far. 100 pages in and all I have gotten is that this girl Julie is whiny, annoying, hates her job, hates her apartment, a somewhat good cook but she sure does cook late at night (11 'o clock and making steaks, uhh no!), and that she can make anything she is eating into a sexual innuendo or it will remind her of something in the stupid book. Oh and she cusses a lot! I am just not connecting with the character. I really want to like her and the book, but so far it is a bust. I wish I hadn't wasted my money. I will finish and see if I like it in the end. So far, I am just planning to stick with the movie. I hope reading this book doesn't taint my idea of the Julie character in the movie. By the way, real life Julie...if you ever happen across this blog post in real life when googling your name or book or whatever, I'm sorry I didn't like your character in your book. It's nothing personal.

  2. I can't believe the professor locked the door. I hate when they do stuff like that! I hope you have a better day tomorrow! It has been really gross weather here too! It is hard not to feel blah when it is so gray outside.

  3. It's so cold, rainy and gross here right now, I just want to stay curled up in bed!

I read and saw the J&J book/movie. Yes, she's whiny...but read it, and then watch the movie. The Meryl Streep parts were amazing, I loved it!

  4. I agree with you on J&J. I was so not obsessed with it either. Have you read My Life In France (the other book the movie is based on)? It is phenomenal! I highly recommend it.
