I'm Still Here!
Don't fret girls! I am still here and I haven't deserted this little blog. I have just had a case of the blahs recently. Work has really been getting to me because of a certain person that I just don't mesh with. Oh well, such is life and we just deal with it! This past weekend, I ate out and relaxed and ate some more and then saw Harry Potter again and then ate again. I swear I feel like all I did this whole weekend was go out to eat. I can feel a difference in my waistline, so I need to put a stop to all of that! All I have done this week is work and then go home and get in bed and read and sleep. I have been reading the first Harry Potter book again and reading a special book that was sent to me to review. Next week, I will be reviewing this book on my blog! I will be back in full force next week, but I just needed a little rest and relaxation this week. I have really been meditating on God's word and trying to listen to him this week. My Bible study leader and our book challenged us to try to simplify your life for a few days or however long you felt called to and just focus on the Lord. I have been trying to do this and I have felt so alive and grateful for Jesus' sacrifice through this. It has actually brought me closer to Jesus in just a few days! I would encourage anyone out there that is looking for direction or just wants to take their relationship with Christ to the next level to do this. This Bible study that I have been doing is fantastic and has strengthened my relationship with Jesus so much. It is called When Wallflower's Dance and it is about becoming a woman of righteous confidence and growing in your relationship with Jesus. My church and small group has been such a blessing in my life this year and I would also encourage any of y'all out there who do not have a church home to try to find one. It has brought me so many blessings like new friends, a stronger walk with Christ, and direction and peace in my heart about where I am going in life. I will be back on Monday with this blog, but I have a lot going on this weekend. My daddy is coming into town and I haven't seen him in over a year, so I am going to spend time with him. Friday evening, I am having a Mary Kay party at my house. Talk to y'all next week!

Love this post! A couple months ago the pastor at our church told us to try and go a week without all of the gidgets and gadgets in our life and I thought he was crazy. I tried it for a week and walked away realizing that I am way too devoted to things like Blogging, the phone, etc. and do not spend enough time praising our Lord who blesses us with everything. It was a great way to get closer with Him. Great post :) XOXO
ReplyDeleteSimplifying is always a good thing. Thanks for your post--it was very encouraging. Enjoy your rest!
ReplyDeleteI am going to have to look at that Bible study. I have really been working on focusing and meditating on spending more time with the Lord as well. And I definitely need to simplify. I would love if I could go without my cell phone! And blogging but then I miss posts like this which actually encourage me!
ReplyDeletejust saw your blog and thought I'd say hello! also, my mother sells mary kay! love it :)
ReplyDeleteI totally just figured out what church you go to! I grew up in that church before it got quite so big (understatement!). I have heard a lot about the small groups out there. That's one thing that I feel is really lacking at our church now...
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend! Enjoy the time with your Dad!
