1. It has to do with the title of this post
2. Think of Strawberry Daiquiris poolside, all the food you can eat, and exciting places to visit
3. It's a miniature city that floats
What's your guess? Oops, did I make it too easy? Oh well, but I can't contain my excitement! I am going on a 5 day cruise to the Bahamas! YAY! This is just what I need after this difficult year of school! I can't wait because Thomas and I are going with A and her husband, and possibly a few other friends will be joining us too! A and I were looking over all the details last night. Here are a few things we are thinking about doing while cruising.
- Hot Stone Massages and Facials
- Touring the forts on Nassau (this one is for Thomas, he is a history buff)
- Stopping by the Atlantis resort to see the beauty of the hotel
- Kayaking
- Snorkeling
- Inflatable Water Fun (this was an excursion with water trampolines, inflatable slides, etc. We thought this would be fun, but we might not do it since it is most likely a kid's thing)
Now I have a fashion emergency! I haven't bought a bathing suit since high school, and frankly I need something that fits! Everything I own either bunches weird in the bottom or is too small up top. I need something new for this trip. I have one bathing suit that I will use, a white Ralph Lauren with multi-colored polo ponies all over. Luckily, this one still looks very nice on. I am thinking that I need 2 more bikinis to take with me. Although it is 5 days, the first and last day I probably won't be poolside and if so I can wear one of the 3 I am planning on bringing. So here's the dilemma, I went on Victoria's Secret's website and didn't really like anything that much. I did like this one bikini (I will post a picture later, but at work we are banned from this website) that was sea foam green with white polka dots that have a brown shadow behind them. It's really cute and a great price. It looks like a great laying out suit because it's kinda like a bandeau top (it has a strap but it looks like is would be fine to untie and the top would stay up) I also can wear the Lilly caftan I posted about a few weeks ago! The only other bikini I really liked was polka dotted and turquoise (sounds very similar right!) I need to find a cute bikini at a great price. I also have to have a matching cover-up. I have the caftan for the one from VS, and a multi-colored sarong that I wear with the RL bathing suit. I will need to buy another cover-up to go with this bikini! So, where do you buy bathing suits? I looked at Lilly, but $148 for a bikini is a little out of my budget since I am most likely buying 2 new suits, a cover-up, a few new clothes for the cruise, and I am thinking about getting a pair of Bonnanos as my Birthday present to myself. You ladies know the best websites, so lead me to a goldmine of bikinis!!!!
you lucky, lucky duck!
ReplyDeleteI am so jealous of you going away!!! I hope you have a great time, take tons of pictures and get a great tan!!!
ReplyDeleteWhatever bathingsuit you choose will be perfect on you!!! Enjoy yourself!
I didn't find anything this season in the VS catalog as far as bathing suits are concerned. Sometimes, you can find a cute suit at Target. I'd probably check some department stores such as Neiman Marcus. I was disappointed in old trusty VS this year!!! Yay, on the vacay. I've been to Grand Bahama but not Nassau. I've always wanted to go!!!!!
ReplyDeleteHi J, I enjoyed your response to my last post.
ReplyDeleteAs far as Bonanno's for your Birthday ... check out the "Blue Jean" series I posted on the blog,
they're a huge hit. If they don't tickle your fancy, our gunmetal and silver metallic combo is gorgeous!
Good luck with the Bikini hunt!
Target has really cute suits. And they look much more expensive than they are! And J. Crew has darling suits. Do you have a store where you can go try on?? My PD always does as their sizes run strangely sometimes!! Lucky you!! :-)
ReplyDeleteSo jealous! You're going to have the best time! And I would say check out Target now for some bikinis - you never know what you'll find & they price is right!
ReplyDeleteCool! Nassau is a great place.
ReplyDeleteAs for the swimsuit dilemma, there are some places that sell bikinis as separates. If you can't find one of those, you could also get two cheap bikinis in different sizes. If you're going to be wearing it a lot, it will be worth the money!
Before you go, be sure to check out the info on Practical Paradise Island Lots of photos and info on Atlantis there.
Have a great time. I wish I was going!
I was at Target on Saturday and they have some cute ones and at good prices.
ReplyDeleteAlso, I've always been a fan of J. Crew suits!.
You're going to have the best time!!!!! I am not a fan of bathing suit shopping at all!! It's always a battle with the sizes. I just have to go there and just get it over with!
