Black Friday Shopping

Unfortunately, my Black Friday has been spent working at my college job :( I work at an office in Savannah, minutes away from the best street for shopping in the entire city. Of course everyone is taking vacation today and I am one of approximately 25 people here (my office has over 600). I only started in early summer so I haven't accrued enough vacation time to take today and the time I want to take at Christmas. Even though I have been working today, I found a little time to walk over to Broughton St. and buy myself a few items. I love the sales you find on the day after Thanksgiving! I looked around in all the boutiques and chain stores and ended up buying quite a few things at GAP. GAP is so great for buying quality staples like jeans, t-shirts, tanks, and sweaters. Here are my purchases:

Buy one, get one free! I got this color and a navy blue one. These will look so great with a crisp white button-down or a colorful top underneath like the turtleneck below.

I got this turtleneck in the color above (yellow with a tiny white stripe) and a solid olive green.

I also got two pairs of socks, one with polka dots in olive green and another with stripes that are shades of pink.

What kind of deals did you find on Black Friday? Did you buy for yourself or for others? Or maybe you decided to forgo shopping and sleep in. Did anyone else have to work all day like me? Leave me some comments and let me know! Merry Christmas!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving! My boyfriend and I are going to his grandparents for a Thanksgiving feast. We always have so much fun with his grandparents, they are so sweet! Have fun today with those that you hold close to your heart and take a moment to stop and count your blessings.

A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To The Deli

My mother just had to call to tell me about what happened to my Nanny (my maternal grandmother) while at her favorite deli in Nashville yesterday. My Nanny is a sweet little old lady who loves to read the tabloids and follow all the celebrities lives. She loves to her celebrities so much that when my older brother moved to L.A. to persue a film career, she would tell him to get the stars autographs for her. She would tell him to go to this restaurant or that coffee bar because a certain celebrity liked to get a latte there. Well, Nanny was leisurely enjoying a sandwich at this deli when Vince Gill and Amy Grant walked in. Nanny was just beside herself with excitement, so much so that she had to call my mother to tell her the news. My mother told her not to bother them because they would probably appreciate having a lunch without signing autographs and taking pictures. Nanny was an inch away from going to her car and getting her camera until my mother told her not to. Nanny went on to finish her lunch and leave the deli. Well, Nanny just couldn't help herself when she was pulling out of the parking lot and Vince Gill and Amy Grant walked right by her car. Nanny rolled down her window and told them how happy she was that they walked into the deli today. She went on to say that they had made her day and she had to call her daughter in Savannah, GA to tell her the wonderful news. Vince Gill and Amy Grant chatted with her for a moment and told her to have a Happy Thanksgiving. Oh my, that sure was a wonderful day for Nanny and I couldn't be happier for her.

Welcome to my Blog!

I never would have thought I would have started one of these, but here I am. How about I tell you a few things about me to start. My name is Jennifer and I am a twenty-something southern belle living in Savannah, GA. I am currently in college trying to get a Bachelors in Economics. I love all things girly, preppy, and southern. Polka dots and stripes are my favorite designs, unless you count all the adorable designs made by Lilly Pulitzer. I love to shop and be with family and friends. I am a crafter and often times I re-create the adorable items I see in shops. Another passion of mine is traveling. I have been lucky enough to have the opportunity to go to many fantastic destinations and I am always thinking about my next getaway. This is all for now, but thanks for stopping by!
